Welcome to this space I have chosen for collecting my thoughts. It is also a space for collecting all sorts of goodness from others that is bringing help and hope to my days.
I am your fellow traveler through this miracle and mystery we call life. I hope you find bits of encouragement when you visit here.
I’d love for you to read the thoughts that brought me to this space…
Returning home after time away has always been something I relish. Comfort, relief, the joy of the familiar, and a sheltered space to rest are some of the gifts I’ve found in returning.
But there can be circumstances that take us from home that make returning hard; even painful.
In experiencing such a time, I’ve been grieved to find the return home bringing fear, distress, and a sense of separateness from it that is hard to comprehend.
On the first day of this particular return, I went for a walk, and found this unknown song waiting to accompany me…
The timing of its appearance brought the comforting reassurance that I am not alone or unseen.
And it made me think how this time of trying to find my way back home in a very concrete way is not only that, but also a small taste of the bigger journey towards home that is all of life. Life is a path of bitter and sweet, and unexpected bends that can bring good or ill depending on how we choose to take them. The gift in all of it is that though we may not see where the road leads now, we can rest in the assurance of where it will end; in finding all the comfort of home our hearts long for, perfect and complete, without any trace of sorrow. Held in the Light we were made for.
